A bit about Fiona

As Creative Director, Fiona has worked in the interior design industry for more than twenty years. A background of working in hotels gave her the sense of how to combine elegance and luxury with scale, which she has transferred to her projects in private homes. Having previously lived in Holland, Fiona can bring a flavour of cutting-edge European design to her work, while as a member of the Historic Houses Association, she’s just at home working in traditional period settings. As a Registered Interior Designer of the British Institute of Interior Design (BIID) and the International Interior Design Association (IIDA), Fiona’s work is monitored and must adhere to best practice standards, giving you complete peace of mind.

What We Do

Fiona Watkins Design offers a friendly professional approach and a wide range of services for both domestic and international, private clients and developers. Emphasis is placed on individual requirements, lifestyle and budget to create homes that reflect and enhance the lives of those who live and work in them. Our homes have the power to influence the way we feel and ultimately affect our well-being, so Biophilic design is very much part of our philosophy. We bring extensive knowledge and creative style to help you achieve your ideal living environment with schemes that are inspiring, imaginative and individual.

Our commissions cover a variety of styles, from country houses to city apartments, barn conversions to contemporary new builds. Each project is different and unique and we believe that the ability to listen and interpret our client's needs is the key to great results. We are passionate about the impact of design on the environment and we work locally with a variety of skilled craftspeople, including wood, glass and metal workers, cabinet makers and stonemasons. We have established successful partnerships with technology, kitchen and bathroom companies to offer a complete project package. Phase 2 - Concept Design

From the detailed brief we start the process of developing our concept designs. The concepts will define the proposed direction of the schemes through digital image boards and sketches. This phase not only ensures the design reflects your expectations, but also gives us the opportunity to unlock ideas and possibilities beyond what you may have envisioned. We present these designs in our Cheshire studio.

Phase 1 - Discovery

Getting to know our clients is the key to success so this stage is about learning how our client wishes to use the spaces to help understand their style, requirements and aspirations. We tailor our designs specifically to the project and to our client’s lifestyle, creating a fresh original design that complements their environment, budget and requirements.

Phase 4 - FF&E and Procurement

Once the design phase and budget are approved, we can proceed with procurement. Overseeing the full FF&E process, managing quotations, purchasing, scheduling and ensuring all items are checked and stored ready for installation.

Phase 3 - Detailed Design

Once the concept design is approved we progress to the detailed design stage providing drawings for bespoke furniture, joinery and final finishes, together with a fully itemised cost breakdown for approval.

Phase 5 - Realisation

We monitor progress on site, liaise with contractors, carry out final inspections and oversea delivery and installation of all furnishings ensuring every detail is finished to the highest standard.
